There are sins which are unpaid
Beauty we left to fade
Anger we fuel to burn
Lessons we failed to learn
There are lies to which we pray
Trust they can’t repay
Hopes we wish are true
Lives they can’t renew
There are dreams we let astray
Names they pushed away
Friends we did forget
Guilt we can’t regret
There is love we blindly follow
The harvester of sorrow
With minds so full of pride
And hollow hearts inside
There are those who promised all
As others did before their fall
Who paint their lies as truths again
And strap their chains on all of men
And then we wish the life of others
Just the same as our fathers
And swim in seas of hate and lust
And dive in graves of rust and dust
And time seems like its standing still
As they scream “We can! … and will!”
We failed again to learn the tale
For their purpose always is: to fail
